7 C flour
1/2 yeast cake softened in
1/4 c warm water
2 1/2 c scalded milk
3 T shortening
3 T sugar
1 T salt
Mix milk and shortening, sugar, and salt. When cool add 4 C flour and beat well. Add more flour to make s soft dough. Mix well, cover and let rest 10-15 min. Kneed on floured boar. Put in greased bowl and let rise until tripled in bulk. Roll dough to 1/2" thick. Cut into strips 1 1/2 wide 3-4" long.
Fry in hot oil
